Shad Rap

When the Rapala design team created the Shad Rap, they were searching for the best crankbait around. One that would closely resemble bait fish the world over, cast like a bullet, work at a variety of depths, and embody the legendary Rapala action. That's a tall order for one lure, but the Shad Rap has proven itself time and time again with confidence and ease.

CountDown

The CountDown method of fishing first introduced by this lure has become a standard presentation of knowledgeable anglers. The slow-sinking, control-depth method enables you to put this lure exactly in the feeding zone of suspended fish or just above weed tops or bottom structure for deeper feeders. Of course, the balanced action can be trolled or casted and retrieved in the usual manner. The CountDown has proven itself especially effective for large trout, walleye and bass.

Jointed

With its slight exaggeration of the Rapala's unique baitfish in distress behavior, the Jointed gets the undivided attention of otherwise uninterested gamefish. This articulated, or broken back bait can be fished like the Original Floating, top to bottom. It is the perfect choice after a cold front, when fish are traditionally finnicky and in a negative feeding mood.

Original Floater

Originally designed in 1936 by Lauri Rapala, the Original Floater is still our number-one-seller. The integrity of the design makes it the most versatile of fishing lures. Whether twitched on the top as a surface bait, retrieved as a shallow runner, weighted with a split-shot for medium depths or bottom walked off a sinker rig, the wounded minnow action continues to be irresistible to gamefish.

Long Cast Minnow

The development process of the new Long Cast Minnow is a slow and painstaking process. Intensive handwork, craftsmanship and engineering genius are the hallmark of this new lure.
The Rapala weight transfer system is unique, proprietary and patent-pending. It's been designed to make this lure very long-casting while maintaining excellent swimming action. In the process of casting and retrieving, the internal weights shift and "lock" in the desired position of the lure to maintain proper balance and action. The locking system also makes it possible to jerk the lure on retrieve without causing the weight to shift or move to the back of the lure, which would destroy the lures swimming action.
In addition, this is the only long casting balsa lure ever made. The internal weight transfer system is hand-fitted in a specially lathed balsa lure cavity. This assures proper fit and balance. Each lure is sealed, sanded and finished with seven coats of paint and lacquer. To top it all off, individual tank-testing and hand-tuning guarantees each lure will have the famous Rapala swimming action, right out of the box.
We can't make them any better, and we can't make them any faster. Now you understand why this lure is truly a limited edition.

RAPFLASH HOLOGRAPHIC

True to it's form, the Husky Jerk's perfect-balanced, true-running action is only enhanced by the RapFlash finish. Top it off with a perfectly pitched rattle for the final attractant. Then stall this bait right in front of their noses, until you twitch and flash 'em into a strike. Works best on clear, sunny days.
